Shira is a licensed, ASHA-certified Speech-Language Pathologist with a private practice in Corte Madera, CA, specializing in working with children ages 2–6. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (HUJI) and her Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology from California State University, East Bay (2020).
Her work is grounded in a relationship-based, neurodiversity-affirming approach and in a clinical framework she is developing around ability and availability. This framework reflects the idea that a child may have communication skills that are not equally accessible across contexts, demands, or times of day. Rather than looking only at what a child can do in a single moment, Shira focuses on understanding the conditions that help communication become more available.
Shira has experience providing speech and language services across a range of settings, including early intervention programs, schools, and private practices, supporting children with communication and language disorders. She has worked as part of multidisciplinary teams alongside occupational therapists, teachers, and other professionals.
In addition to her clinical work, Shira is a certified teacher of Hebrew as a second language and has many years of experience teaching art and languages in therapeutic and educational settings.
Shira conducts comprehensive assessments and collaborates closely with parents and professionals to support each child’s development. She also provides parent coaching and training, helping caregivers better understand their child’s communication style, recognize what supports access, and carry strategies into everyday routines. Her areas of expertise include early intervention, language delays, and speech sound disorders, with a particular focus on neurodivergent populations. She serves families in Southern Marin, providing services in homes and schools—natural environments where she can coach caregivers to best support their child’s communication needs.
